DOS Viruses
Viruses that require a DOS-based host to successfully infect. Usually written in x86 assembly. Technical discussions welcome. Posting of binaries is not allowed; post the source instead!

Windows Viruses
Viruses that require a 16-bit or 32-bit Windows subsystem present on the host to be infected. Many written in x86 assembly, some in C/C++.

UNIX Viruses
Viruses are quite rare on UNIX-based systems (Linux, Free/Open/Net-BSD, Solaris, IRIX, etc.), but do still exist.

Anti-Virus
All of the other forms deal with working with viruses. This is the forum for trying to get rid of viruses, and making the host "immune" to most viruses. Usually involving anti-virus software or extensive operating system configuration to thwart viral infection.
